I translate from German and Italian into English. Some of my translations are intended for internal company communications or to assist confidential contract negotiations and court proceedings. Others are published on websites, in magazines and journals or as press releases for public information or marketing purposes. Attention to detail and the purpose of the document are paramount.
As a Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (MCIL) and the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (MITI), I am able to provide certified translations of official documents such as birth, marriage, death and degree certificates. The Home Office website (https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/home-office) provides information on certified translations.
If you require interpreting, the translation of spoken language, I can recommend qualified interpreters in my language combinations.
You may wish to have your translation translated back into the source language to see whether the translation is correct. I also provide this service.
Once a translation has been completed, it might require revision to check for inaccuracies, spelling, grammar and punctuation mistakes. I normally carry out this service before delivering my translation.
Please let me know if you require the revision of a translation which has been completed by another translator. I would compare the source text (the document in the original language) and the target text (the translation). I would then revise the translation, where necessary, to correct any errors and produce a well-written English document. I revise English translations of German and Italian documents.
This is similar to revision, but only involves the document in its target language. This document would be re-drafted, only where necessary, to produce a final document, which flows well in terms of grammar, punctuation, spelling, style and appropriate vocabulary. I proofread English documents.
